First edition thus of this 1984 reprinting of the work originally published in 1959, very good hardcover shows light soil to covers, mild foxing to page edges with hint of same at endpapers, tiny closed tear at for edge of page -, and some other light trace wear, in very good dust jacket that shows light bit of foxing at jacket reverse, bit of toning to inner flaps and mild edgewear that includes wrinkling and tiny closed tears. pages with some full page black & white illustrations by Gorey. Still a nice collection of stories that features the likes of Blackwood, Dickens, Stevenson, Stoker, M. R. James and others.
