Good green cloth hardcover with gilt letter and illustration to cover and spine shows rubbing and soil to covers, fraying at ends and corners, gauging to small portions of front edges of cover and same at top edge of front cover, light tears at rear hinge, foxing and soil to page edges and endpapers, along with foxing and staining to text block, mainly at tissued plates where couple of tissue guards are torn or missing..587 pages with maps, black & whites and adverts at rear. All said, this does remain a perfectly readable copy that will look good on the shelf of this look at the legendary Confederate General.
