First printing, very good red and blue cloth hardcover with a bit of a musty smell at least for now shows bit of bumping to top corners, spotting and bit of discoloration at bottom corners, name, place and date written at top of front pastedown, light bit of toning an d foxing at endpapers and some other very light trace wear, in very good - dust jacket (price at flap) that shows foxing mainly at jacket reverse, soiling, rubbing and edgewear that includes closed tears and small open chips. Solid copy in jacket of this novel from the noted author that was turned into the film of the same name in 1947.
