First edition (Published January, 1912 with matching roman numerals at bottom of title page), very good cloth hardcover with gilt letter and illustration at top portion of front cover shows touch of soil and shelf wear to covers including light dulling to gilt letter at spine, touch of soil to page edges, name at top of front endpaper and top of page 1 as well, along with some other light trace wear, married to a good, later, Grosset & Dunlap dust jacket that shows exposure toning along spine, wrinkling, rubbing, soil and staining, and edgewear that includes closed tears and open chipping, and tape mends as well, and even with all this still looks decent. 335 pages with four illustrations by Duer including tissued frontispiece. Still a pleasing first edition copy of this classic western that is arguably one of the best ever.
