First English edition, very good + hardcover shows a few dark spots to cover from small open chips in jacket, along with bump to top edge of front cover and some other light trace wear, in very good dust jacket (price at flap) that shows rubbing and soil, seven small open chips to front panel and edgewear that includes closed tears and shallow open chipping as well. 208 pages "with about a hundred black-and-white photographs, together with maps and plans. Still a solid copy in jacket of this accounting from the author of monasteries ruined and flourishing and his reception from the monks in them.
