First printing, very good + black cloth hardcover shows light rubbing and soil to covers, ink price written at top of front endpaper, along with some other very light trace wear, in very good dust jacket (price at flap) that shows some toning, wrinkling at fore edge and bottom corner of front flap, along with edgewear that includes wrinkling, small closed tears and a small open chip at top of front panel. Still a solid copy in jacket of this "..epic novel of man pitted against nature.." from the noted French author translated by Patrick O'Brian of Aubrey-Maturin fame.
