Early printing, good + blue cloth hardcovers (no dust jackets) with gilt letter to spines shows rubbing and mild soil to covers, bumping at corners, bookplate at front pastedown of both volumes, name and bit of ink reside at both front endpapers, a few bent page corners, some mild internal splits and some other light trace wear. Well over 1300 pages with color maps and indexes. Still a solid set of this well regarded history from the noted professor and historian. Good. Item #30079
