Item #26095 Broke: The Man Without the Dime. Edwin A. Brown.

Broke: The Man Without the Dime.

Chicago, IL: Browne & Howell Company, 1913. Hardcover. Most likely a first edition with no reference to an earlier printing, good brown cloth hardcover (no dust jacket) with a pasted on cameo illustration to front cover of author shows heavy fading to letter at spine, soiling and spot stains to covers, rubbing manily to cover edges with bumping and hint of fray at corners, soiling to page edges, some mild soil and foxing at a few pages within and some mild internal splitting. 370 pages with all black & white plates present and an appendix. Still a solid copy of this work that was ahead of its time in which the author-homeless advocate takes on the appearance of the man without a dime in order to explore through his travels and otherwise the issues of the homeless man of no means. Good. Item #26095
