Reprint, very good + hardcover shows bit of rubbing at cover edges and light shelf wear, bookseller sticker at bottom of front end paper, browning to handful of pages at top edge where newspaper pieces were used as bookmarks, and with some other light trace wear, else tight and clean, in very good dust jacket that shows hint of exposure toning and wrinkle along spine, light soil and rubbing, staining at bottom edge around area of spine tail more visible at reverse, and with edge wear that includes short closed tears, tiny open chips and shallow open chipping at spine tail (about 3/8 inch deep). 381 pages with black & whites. Still a pleasing copy of this "..complete story of Maximilian, Archduke of Austria, of Carlota, his beautiful wife, and of the fantastic ill-started empire which Napoleon III founder in 19th century Mexico."
