First edition, very good + blue cloth hardcover shows bit of fade to gilt at spine, previous owner bookplate at rear pastedown, touch of soil to covers and page edges and some other very light trace wear, in very good dust jacket (price at flap) that shows soiling including a couple of ink blotches at front panel, touch of exposure darkening along spine and edge wear that includes closed tears, shallow open chipping and couple of triangular open chips at top edge with largest being at top corner of front panel (inch wide or so and couple inches deeep). 528 pages with maps and illustrations. Still a fairly attractive copy of this work that studies the civic life of the three Romes (Ancient, Renaissance and Capitol of United Italy). Very Good in Very Good DJ. Item #21462
